(More customer reviews)I bought this case on ebay before it was offered on Amazon (or before I found it at least), but it is the exact same case shown here. It is a sort of cross between a hard case and one of those silicon/neoprene cases. It has a hard, two-part, snap on shell but the exterior is rubber coated for added grip and a nice texture (it is also not a lint magnet like aforementioned silicon/neoprene cases). The holes are cut perfectly for the phone (headphone jack, volume buttons, camera, charging port), and are not at all what I expected from a cheap sub $10 case. Perhaps the only thing I dislike is the small square hole below the camera hole as I cannot tell its purpose and it means every week or so you have to take the case off and wipe off any dust that may have gotten in there, my only guess is it is to vent any heat the device may generate (havent used the phone a lot without the case so cant really compare, but it definitely doesnt get hot/hotter with it on). To be honest I bought this as an interim case because no major accessory companies had released products for the Eris yet because I got the phone less than a week after release, however unless some company comes out with a far superior case (and I dont see how much you can improve on a very functional case) then I will likely just stick with this one especially since it only cost me $7 shipped. This along with a screen protector provide my phone with the protection it needs to avoid scratches and survive small drops unscathed.
It is also offered in colors other than black for those of you looking to change up the look a bit more (I have seen royal blue, pink, and purple, and there are probably others).
*Edit*: While I still recommend this case I would just like to point out that when my phone fell onto a hardwood floor from about 4ft up the clips holding the two pieces together partially snapped open. The case did not come off and popped back into place, but when it fell one side (length wise) opened. My phone is fine and survived without scratches, my only concern is that from higher up the case could come off entirely (granted no case offers full protection and dropping your phone from heights onto hard surfaces can break it case or no case). At this price it is still a great case, and I don't know if it would have been much different with a $20 or $30 case
