I am on my 4th G1, things like dropping it an such were so frustrating that I decided I wanted a case. This case protects it very well, and does not impede. Also, the rubbery finish is desireable. I think the belt clip is bulky, and I am not a belt clip guy, but it is great without it.
I like this way better than any of my friends hard plastic cases, which look cheaper, and I assume have less shock absorbing properties.
