(More customer reviews)Purchased a Case-Mate clear armor case for my Droid after reading some reviews that these clear cases offer pretty good protection without adding extra bulk to your phone. The case really has one main positive, it keeps the phone from getting scuffed or scratched. This is good since this is why I buy a case in the first place. Another plus that I found was that the screen cover does not take away from the touch features, and it does not add extra friction. However, the negative aspects of this clear armor are hard to overlook.
First, there are two sets of "cases" included in the package, yet it only comes with enough application solution for one set. Second, the case materials are very hard to apply, and I had a hard time getting the smaller pieces or those on the edges placed correctly. Deft fingers are required. Third, the edges of each piece are a dust/fuzz magnet, and the surface attracts a bit of oil (from fingers or face). The most annoying thing, not necessarily a fault of case-mate, is that the phone doesn't fit in the car dock now...not sure about the media dock.
I would have to say that these types of cases are an attractive option because it would be nice to have phone protection without all of that bulkiness of other cases. But, there are a lot improvements that are needed before the case-mate armor becomes the best option.
Update: After about two months of use, the armor is still doing its job, no scratches or dinks with normal wear and tear. Unfortunately, the edges are starting to come off so I do not think the body armor will last long. The screen portion is working good. I'm estimating that a new armor will be needed after about 6 months of use. Contrary to the other review, it works just fine for the Droid...if you apply it correctly as stated in the instructions.
