(More customer reviews)This is my second Skinomi product and I'm very happy with them both. If you're patient and follow their instructions carefully when putting it on, you should have no trouble. There is a curing time and the small micro-bubbles will disappear over time. The first time took about a week...this time only about 48 hours.
I washed my hands and cleaned the phone with a lint free cloth (a 3M Microfiber Cloth works great Microfiber Electronics Cleaning Cloth). I then wet my fingers using the supplied spray bottle and removed the skin from the backing doing so from one of the bottom corners. It was easier for me to apply the top portion of the skin to the phone first and align it to the ear speaker so removing the skin from the backing by a bottom corner reduced my handling of the skin. Wet the skin thoroughly...getting liquid on the entire surface! I allowed the excess liquid to drip off for a few seconds. Once aligned, squeegee out the excess liquid carefully using the lint free cloth to catch any drips. I didn't like the "squeegee" that they provide (I felt it had too sharp an edge) so I used a piece of stiff cardboard (from the back of a notepad) which worked great. Squeegee away from the ear speaker, not towards. I used enough pressure to bend the cardboard a little but you shouldn't need to press too hard. Finally I gently wiped up any remaining moisture with the lint free cloth.
The instructions say to leave the phone off for 12-24 hours. The first time I put a Skinomi skin on, I had the phone on within an hour and had no problems. I was perhaps impatient but I also knew that I controlled the liquid well and none got inside the phone. This time I applied the skin before bed and left the phone off for about 10 hours, again with no problems.
This time after the installation, I noticed what looked like a 2" long hairline scratch that produced a prism like effect. I've seen others mention this problem on various forums and it appears to be a manufacturing defect. I emailed Skinomi about this and got a response within 24hrs saying that they were shipping me a new skin immediately at no charge.
Again, this is my second Skinomi skin. I had the first one on my Droid1 for 8 months before giving the phone to my wife. The original skin was still on the phone and looked as good as new. Great product and customer service.
