(More customer reviews)Like the other reviewer mentioned, the product image shown here is incorrect. The commuter case is actually composed of an inner silicone skin and a hard plastic shell that fits snugly over the skin.
My fiancee initially purchased this case, and I was so impressed with it that I decided to go for it myself. I don't like the look of most silicone "skins" that are sold to protect mobile phones, but I wanted something that would provide more shock absorbtion than a plastic snap-on cover. This is truly the best of both worlds. It also comes with a high-quality plastic screen protector. Incidentally, I didn't install the screen protector correctly and wound up ruining it in the process (it sticks to the screen via a static charge, and I dropped it and got tons of dust and lint on it from my carpet). I called the Otterbox customer support line to order a replacement, and was surprised when a real person picked up immediately, rather than feeding me through an automated message system. I was even more surprised to find out that the screen protector is covered under the product's warranty, and they are shipping a new one to me free of charge.
It's a little more expensive than other cases you might find, but it's worth every penny. The build quality of the case is excellent, and their customer service is outstanding.
